Living While Mortal is not a bereavement or grief support group. While participants may find the experience talking about taboo topics in a group setting therapeutic, LWM is not meant to serve as therapy.
Facilitators will be from the Boston Doula Guild, including the following:
Shirley Riga is a seasoned spiritual teacher and Death Doula whose life's journey has profoundly shaped her approach to healing and end-of-life care. Her path began with her late daughter's chronic illness. These experiences ignited her passion for helping others navigate their own life challenges. She founded a support group for parents and caregivers of chronically ill children, marking the beginning of her dedication to service. She is a Spiritual Director, a Usui Reiki Master and a Trance Healing Physical Medium.
Claire Abs is a translator, writer, and Death Doula in training who, like many, discovered the world of death work through personal loss. She is passionate about incorporating conversations about death and dying into everyday life.
Minda Sanchez (she/her) is a culture worker who helps people reclaim, remember, and create practices that befriend death as a natural and sacred part of life.
